Not Just a Pretty Face..

General — Posted on January 26, 2010 at 12:41 am

People expect pretty things to have all air and no sea.

To use the cliche “never judge a book by its cover” would be to understate the obvious. The substance of an individual should never be measured by their appearance…simply because one desires to project through visual expression of outward appearance the effort that has been made to better themselves, no one individual should ever determine they have no mental prowess to back their physique. It takes self discipline to achieve a result in any endeavor, and the promotion of a developed physical form is no exception. And lest anyone forget, one should know the true intellect of a person before determining their worth based on their decision to enhance their outward appearance. I for one have studied and read intensely my whole life, and to be judged by anyone simply based on how “pretty” I may or may not be perceived to be, I find appalling…

John Lennon’s Dream.. Song of the day

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

John was the lonely one, maybe one of the only ones … who really knew what would make the world a better place…

Happy Birthday…Rest in Peace my dearest Michael

A willow deeply scarred
Somebody’s broken heart
And a washed out dream
(Washed out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya’ see
‘Cause they got no place to be
That’s why I’m starting with me

Happy Birthday…Rest in Peace my dearest Michael…you were such a wonderful talent, and as such…always so misunderstood, but you were the one that reminded us to look at the “man in the mirror” and see him looking back at us…

If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that change

I’m much more shy than anyone just meeting me might think…and I know that probably sounds crazy to anyone that has known me a long time.  But, enjoying life has taken me places I wouldn’t have dreamed of before.

25 things about me.. you didn’t know

General — Posted on August 9, 2009 at 6:27 pm

1.  Describe myself? Okay … once upon a time, in a far off land, there lived this… What can I say … lol

2. Okay … I’ll get “somewhat” serious about me in 2000 words or less…  Probably Less maybe more.  Get that from my being back in college again, and expanding my mind

3.  I smile when I can, apologize when I should, let go of everything I am unable to change, love deeply, forgive quickly, take chances always, give it everything I have, and as always … with no regrets. I take the good with the bad, laugh when it gets ruff, accept what I have, not worry about what I do not, remember the good times, learn from my mistakes, take responsibility for my actions, accept that people change, and … that life goes on… Are you taking notes?  Basically though, I’m just me … I seldom let myself take life too seriously, nor too lightly… and I’ve had fun so far

4. My first real goals in life were singing and dancing, I used to put on my own shows during the holidays  Now I sing when I’m happy, and dance only occasionally  I should have been a Showgirl that was always my passion.

5. I am a freak for great Sushi and a perfectly prepared Steak.  I have always loved favor in my food, and in my life growing into being much more selective in all things now and loving it…

6.  I love the Great White Way though I have only been there once.  I have also never been through Central Park in a carriage, but know I want to someday

7.  Born and raised a California girl, with racing in my Blood.  I have always been a bit of a Speed Freak when it comes to Automobiles, low and fast tight in the curves with plenty of horsepower

8.  I used to wish I was an only child, but since they wouldn’t send all my little brother’s away, I finally got used to having them pester me

9.  I met Travis Barker, the drummer from Blink-182 at a party in the ˜90s (anyone remember them?), and we talked for most of the night about music.  I lost my date, but still had a wonderful time

10.  Growing up in the Central Valley was an itchy disgusting weather nightmare.  I prefer the coast in the LA area, or up in the Bay area, and I love Sausalito

11.  I had a friend who traveled to Thailand a lot, and I have always been intrigued with Asia.  So, I got him to shop for me and fill a suitcase with fabrics and arts International travel, everywhere and anywhere but especially Europe, with Asia as a close second.

12.  I have always mixed all my Chinese food together on my plate don’t ask me why, I just like it that way.  ;-P

13.  I stay up very late, even when I have to get up really early Insomnia?  Maybe, or I just cannot stop reading and put down my book…

14.  My first special car was Fire Engine Red with a Black interior and a place for my iPod.  I loved just driving in it, even when I wasn’t going anywhere

15.  When I was young, my Grandma taught me, if you put a little salt on your fruit, it tastes much sweeter and that’s how I like it now  And if you think about it, that’s kinda a parable for life, the salty times they make the good ones…just that much sweeter to enjoy

16.  Everyone was so hot for the iPhone, I had one all of 1 day  I don’t know what the fuss was all about, I HATED the touch screen  They don’t work when you want, and they scratch to easily  And typing texts forget it.

17.  Is it just me, or is Wal-Mart a homeless shelter?  I’m all about a bargain on essentials, but seriously Then again, if you think about it…Wal-Mart is a lot like the streets of Vegas too much of it will drive you insane!!!

18.  I don’t watch much TV  I watch Law and Order or House Oh…and Home Improvement Shows. Now I want to get my own house, just so I can tear it all apart and rebuild it my way

19.  When they invented Text messaging, they killed that art of actual conversation.  Does anyone but me miss talking in complete sentences, and actually saying something meaningful?

20.  I absolutely prefer a long soothing warm bath to a shower

21. I have what I call a healthy disdain for all forms of personal drama.  I find it sad that people feel the need to create it It doesn’t just happen, they create it for attention What happened to people?

22.  I have two toy Doggies now Yeah, they can be little Rats sometimes, but you gotta Love ˜em, because they Love you so much, they cuddle right up to show you

23.  I Love a good Breakfast in the morning.  I hate chain restaurants and poorly prepared eggs from room service.  I like my bacon crispy but not burnt, and my potatoes with some zest not a mash of hash and grease

24.   !   Is the true meaning of life if you get it, you got it, if you don’t, then I’ll have to explain it Only not here, and not now;-P

25.  Just as mountains budge not to the wind, so to are those faithful within themselves, never moved against their faith, neither by flattery, nor by blame.  Like a deep blue lake, clear and calm, those with internal faith will find a positive strength when hearing words of truth.  But for those who lack true sense of self, though they may hear the truth, ponder it or meditate upon it…with minds like water seeping from leaky faucets, they will not have the truths of life settle within their soul, not until they may accept themselves for who they truly are…

And with that I don’t really know what else to say about myself…  It would be more interesting if you wanted to find out for yourself… Yeah!!! that’s the ticket.  Ask me anything you want to know…I love engaging conversations, and would especially enjoy talking with you. I actually like answering questions…but please, no harsh lighting… I consider myself a genuine person…  I like meeting new people, and going new places…  Whenever I have a question, I ask…  Getting right to the point makes communicating so much easier.

So, what about you?

“I am often asked What would make you Smile ? or What gift would excite you most make you really happy ?

Something Beautiful

General — Posted on January 2, 2009 at 11:04 am

Does anyone Love original poetry?  I mean things written by the “unknown poets” that just want to express themselves..  This one was sent to me once…

To the realm of soft elusion, floating on waves of air, seagulls drift effortlessly on the evening sky. On a distant shoreline, she waves to me, and all my thoughts of sleep become dream. To the path of my bright lit way, the streams of my fortunes there abound. Giving me the power to be unafraid, that in my mind I fly to her, on wings of angel’s song.

Catching up…

Hello there to all my Bailey Lovers… As you know, I have been out and about a lot lately, and not been available much…which I do apologize for. I have though been traveling around a little, making my way to NYC, a couple of stops through Vegas, and all over the San Francisco Bay Area the last few years…

And made my way back home to the Valley as well, but that is another story all together… I had the opportunity to visit New York City, which was such a wonderful experience…all the sounds, the way they live their NYC life…  It was kind of a Bee Hive experience, there are just so many people there. But all in all, a very fun and exciting place to visit, though I could not live there…

I really enjoyed seeing everything I could, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral was so moving, what a building…  But my most memorable experience was how proud I felt of the strong cultural presence to see “the Color Purple.”  And how the racial diversity in Harlem was just the coolest thing I have ever seen, with everyone there getting along so well.

Just getting you caught up or recent events, with much more to come…
